The businessperson had to withdraw from negotiations due to possible risks, associated with violation of EU’s sanctions legislation in case of the purchase of Ukrainian Sberbank.
Businessperson Valerii Khoroshkovsky withdrew from negotiations about the purchase of Sberbank’s subsidiary in Ukraine, FinClub reports quoting its sources.
Reportedly, Khoroshkovsky reached principled agreement with Sberbank’s parent company. However, in late January, he had to withdraw from negotiations after his lawyers gave the opinion on possible risks, associated with the violation of EU’s sanctions legislation in case of direct or indirect purchase of Ukrainian Sberbank.
“For Khoroshkovsly, who is the resident of Monaco, the question of sanctions is very important; that is why he withdrew from negotiations”, the interlocutor said.
It should be reminded that last November, it was reported that Valery Khoroshkovsky concludes a deal on purchasing the business of Russia’s Sberbank in Ukraine.
