The National Bank determines the banks, the bankruptcy or improper functioning of which can create systemic risks for the financial system of the country, NBU’s press office reports.
Three largest state banks of Ukraine entered the list of 2018: PrivatBank PJSCCB, Ukreximbank PJSC and Oshchadbank PJSC.
Such decision was approved by the resolution of the management board of the central bank dated 20 March 2018.
The said banks had the status of systemically important within last two years.
The National Bank may apply increased prudential requirements to the systemically important banks, in particular, the increased liquidity and capital ratios. It complies with generally accepted global practice.
The systemically important status also determines the specific regime of supervision over bank.
