The International Monetary Fund is against declaration of tax amnesty in Ukraine, Minister of Finance Alexander Danyliuk said during interview to Interfax-Ukraine agency, ET reports.
“IMF is against tax amnesty in any form. They are against, because the experience of other countries demonstrates that it worked out far from everywhere. Before introducing “nil declaration”, we need to conduct consultations: show IMF and all Ukrainians, for what it is needed and in which package it will be introduced”, he said.
The Minister of Finance also noted that the fund considers the initiative regarding proposing the draft law about “nil declaration” and indirect methods in BEPS package, however, he emphasized that these are not interrelated steps.
“A different story is the one-time disclosure of information about real estate before the beginning of international information exchange, so called voluntary disclosing. It is the standard procedure, which was carried out by many countries bbefore the beginning of information exchange. Currently, jointly with NBU and experts, we study such experience for developing the draft law”, the Minister added.
