The last year cyberattacks against Ukraine inflicted huge losses to our economy, amounting to “billions”, Secretary of National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Alexander Turchinov said during the opening of IX National Expert Forum in Kyiv, UNN reports.
“Very dangerous components of the hybrid aggression, which is used against us 24 hours a day – it is the information and cybernetic aggression. What concerns the cybernetic aggression, the last year cyberattacks inflicted huge losses to our economy. Amounting to billions”, he emphasized.
According to Turchinov, the National Coordination Center of Cybersecurity was created within NSDC.
“And for a very short period, we achieved very serious results. The defensive contour is actually built; today, it protects information resources of state institutions quite reliably. We start protecting systemically the strategic infrastructure facilities”, NSDC secretary said.
According to expert estimates, he added that for a very short period, we managed to achieve the ability of cybersecurity at the level of many EU countries.
As UNN reported, the official website of Tennessee State Election Commission was crippled for one hour as the result of hacker attack, made from the computer with IP address, registered in Ukraine. The incident happened during voting at primary election on May 1, Knox Country Deputy Director of Information Technology David Ball.
