Canada will continue to support Ukraine and increase the amount of assistance, Minister of National Defense Harjit Sajjan said during the bilateral meeting with the Ukrainian colleague Stepan Poltorak, the press office of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
“I see progress in reforming the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine; I am satisfied how the process of training Ukrainian militaries, which Canadian instructors carry out, is going. I am confident that we need to continue and expand opportunities of cooperation, go further and improve the capacities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine”, Minister of National Defense of Canada said.
During this meeting, it referred to approval of the decision on joint processing the list of weapons, military equipment, which Ukraine needs for defense and development of capabilities of the Armed Forces.
In April 2017, Ukraine and Canada signed the agreement on cooperation in defense. On December 13, Canada included Ukraine in the Automatic Firearms Country Control List.
