On June 13, the MEPs will vote for allocation of a new package of financial assistance to Ukraine.
The amount of the tranche can reach 1 billion euros, ET reports.
If approved, the document on the financial support, provided to Kyiv, should be signed by EU Council.
Then, the conditions, which Ukraine should fulfill to obtain the tranche, are determined.
Brussels demands from Kyiv to implement certain reforms. If EU deems the conditions fulfilled, then, as expected, Ukraine will receive a tranche in two installments, amounting to 500 million euros each, within 2.5 years.
Three years ago, Brussels already approved the similar program of financial assistance, provided to Kyiv. It was supposed that within its framework, Ukraine will receive three tranches of 600 million euros. Two of them were actually issued, while the third was denied this January.
EU acknowledged that Kyiv did not fulfill a number of requirements on the implementation of reforms. The current draft law on the financial assistance to Ukraine was approved by the European Commission in early March.
