Iurii Boiko to head the delegation
13 Dec. 2013 Ukrainian delegation headed by Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Boiko arrived in Moscow to attend the 60th session of the Economic Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States, informs the press office of the Deputy Prime Minister.
The Ukrainian delegation includes First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Ruslan Demchenko, Deputy Minister of Industrial Policy of Ukraine Natalia Boitsun, Chairman of the State Space Agency of Ukraine Iurii Alekseiev, Director-General of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine Ruslan Illichov.
During the 60th meeting of the CIS Economic Council scheduled a number of important issues including, inter alia, the progress of the draft agreement on the transit pipeline transport states - participants of CIS on the draft agreement on cooperation in the exchange of scientific and technical information, the state of and urgent problems of improving statistical activities in the CIS; Action Plan of CIS Member States in the field of cross-border cooperation in 2014-15, a project of the Interstate radio-navigation program of CIS Member States for 2016, the Council of Heads of Customs Services of the CIS member states, the state of electronic information resources supporting innovation activity in CIS Member States and others.
Economic Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States is the main executive body that ensures compliance with agreements adopted within the CIS, decisions of the Heads of State and Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of formation and functioning of free trade and other issues of social and economic cooperation shall decide on matters within its competence, as well as on behalf of the Council of Heads of State and Heads of Government of the CIS.
2014 will be the year of Ukraine’s presidency in the Commonwealth of Independent States.
