From early 2008, Ukraine injected USD 15.5 bln in state banks and this amount can increase, Francis Malige, the Managing Director for Eastern Europe and the Caucasus for the EBRD, wrote in Facebook, ET reports.
“From 2008, Ukraine injected 15.5 bln dollars of support into its state banks. And that is not even taking into account the insolvent banks, which were transferred to the Individuals’ Deposit Insurance Fund”, he noted.
According to him, the respective expenditures will continue increasing, unless the management and supervision in state banks are improved.
“Ukraine needs the law on state banks”, Malige summarized.
It should be reminded that in February, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the strategy of development of the public banking sector until 2022.
