The British banks do not open accounts to the companies, created by Ukrainians, on the grounds that Ukraine is subject to financial restrictions, Cofounder of Monobank Dmitri Dubilet informed in Facebook.
“Apparently, if the company, created by Ukrainians, attempts to open the account in the British bank, than it will sooner be denied in it”, Dubilet wrote.
“As you understand, - another British banker writes to us – Ukraine is the country under sanctions. And the policy of our bank does not assume the cooperation with sanctioned countries”, he added.
One of the bankers sent Dubilet the Financial Sanctions Targets by Regime – the official list of the countries, on the ruling systems of which the sanctions were imposed.
“Afghanistan, Burundi, Syria…Ukraine!” the banker enlisted.
According to Dubilet, Ukraine was included in this list for two reasons – sanctions against Yanukovich’s regime and sanctions against the officials, involved in the annexation of the Crimea.
“Many banks do not even want to bother with Yanukovich! Ukraine? Sorry, sanctions, we do not want to mess with it, goodbye”, he summarized.
Dubilet noted that this sanction list of countries does not include Russia.
As is known, Fintech Band plans to launch the bank, similar to monobank, in the United Kingdom, then in Europe.
