The government is considering the additional funding for the military departments
The government asked the U.S. Department of Defense to plan costs of $ 26 billion. These funds can be further allocated from the state budget for the next fiscal year, which begins October 1, Bloomberg informs.
At present, the authorities cut funding to the Pentagon, according to the law of sequestration, which was introduced in 2011 to regulate the accumulation of public debt. This includes Pentagon spending cuts of $ 500 billion over 10 years.
Office of Management & Budget of White House sent a letter to the Pentagon with the requirement to provide a list of expenses that can be taken in the event of additional funding. The administration considers capital funding in the war department as investment fund and believes that the budget plan presented by the president to Congress on March 4, will include additional funds for the development of defense.
Pentagon list of priorities could include more weapons, base maintenance projects to improve preparedness and research programs.
Yet the military spending budget for 2015 fiscal year, excluding military operations, is $ 498 billion, which is $ 43 billion less than last year.
