The situation stabilizes
In January 2014 the value that determines the level of consumer optimism towards the economic situation of the country has grown. The increase in rate is caused by improved business expectations in the labor market, the Reuters writes.
Research organization Conference Board shows that consumer confidence index has exceeded the expectations of surveyed economists and grew to 80.7 points. In December the figure was 77.5.
The last time such a high rate of positive consumer expectation was seen before autumn discontinuing of work of government, which significantly reduced the level of confidence in the country.
Analysts also noted that the expectations index rose to its highest level since September 2014, and reached 81.8 points. Index shortage of jobs fell from 32.9 in December to 32.6 in January. And expected inflation rate was 5.1%, down from 5.2% last month.
«In general there is a confidence that the situation is slowly beginning to improve. Growing optimism indicates a rapid economic recovery», - concluded Lynn Franco, director of economic indicators in the Conference Board.
