The IMF has reached certain agreements with Ukrainian government on key issues, Correspondent.net reports.
IMF and Ukraine are close to final approval of the updated memorandum within the second revision of Extended Financing Facility program, IMF Deputy Managing Director David Lipton said, commenting negotiations in Kyiv.
“We are on the advanced stage of negotiations; we reached some agreements with Ukrainian government on key issues. There are still several insignificant items, which need to be approved”, - he said during the interview to ICTV.
In addition, IMF Deputy Managing Director did not specify on which key issues the agreements were reached.
He also noted that it does not refer to increasing the retirement age in Ukraine.
“The difficult aspects in pension fund will be discussed in the future, this question is complex. It is important that the pension system works poorly. It is expensive enough, but at the same time it led to the fact that most Ukrainian pensioners do not obtain appropriate pension”, he said.
