Russia is not going to withdraw from performance of its obligations under the Paris Climate Agreement and will consecutively perform them, RF Vice Prime Minister Alexander Khloponin told RIA News.
“It is their personal business; we continue to move as we used to move consecutively. We consecutively fulfil undertaken obligations”, Khloponin said behind the scenes of PIEF.
On Thursday, President Donald Trump announced that the USA withdraws from the Paris Climate Agreement. During his speech, he noted that the country will start negotiating on the conclusion of a new agreement in this sphere.
The Paris Climate Agreement determines the global agenda of the measures, required for avoidance of “dangerous climate change” through deterrence of global warming. The agreement does not stipulate any refusal from fossil fuel and the restrictions of carbon dioxide emissions. However, all the parties should accept national goals of emission abatement, technical re-equipping and adaptation to the climate change.
