U.S. see threat in Russia. CIA Director stated that “the Russian threat poses challenge for U.S. for decades”.
U.S. continues to face threat, coming from Russia, CIA Director Mike Pompeo told in interview with Washington Free Beacon.
“We still continue to face the threat, coming from Russians, whether active measures, propaganda or the efforts to form a public opinion through a number of methods, some of which are known, and some of which have concealed nature”, he said.
According to CIA Director, “the Russian threat has been posing challenge for the U.S. for decades”.
“This threat will be permanent. And we should fight back, defeat, make it painful for them, make them decrease the scale of what they are doing now”, - Pompeo stated.
In addition, he emphasized that he speaks out for exchanging counterterrorism information with Russia.
“It seems to me that if we can find the method of exchanging information regarding the fight against terrorism, then we should do it. Meanwhile, we should let them understand that that it is unacceptable to continue their active actions against U.S., which we are looking after and which we will respond to”, CIA Director said.
