Megaphon intends to file lawsuit against the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) in connection with its demand to cancel the intra-network roaming, Interfax reports in the company.
“It is impossible to fulfill FAS’ warning. The company’s position did not change. For long time we have been giving our subscribers a choice of different tariff plans, where the cost of conversations does not differ from the home region, and different options, which allow optimizing subscribers’ expenses. Today, the company will file a petition in court”, Megafon reports to Iterfax.
In March 2017, FAS initiated the revision of mobile operators in regard to setting prices for roaming. According to the service, there should not be such a notion as “intra-network roaming”, either de jure, or de facto.
According to FAS’ warning, the mobile operators should change tariffs for mobile services during the trips around the country, excluding any unreasoned price difference, within 14 days from the receipt of the warning. The warning was issued to the “big four” of mobile operators. MTS reports that they are negotiating with FAS, Vimpelcom and Tele2 declined to comment.
