European Commission proposes to reform common telecom market
The European Commission proposes to reform common market of telecommunications, which may lead to lower rates for calls between EU member states, Ukrinform reports.
The European Commission published Connected Continent legislative proposals, focused on the development of a single European telecom sphere.
«Operators will not be entitled to charge for incoming calls to subscribers traveling abroad within the EU», the document specifies.
EU Commission plans to introduce these changes by 2016 or even earlier.
The initiative also contains a requirement for a single EU tariff for international mobile calls and text messages.
