The mission of the International Monetary Fund positively assessed the results of the pension reform in Ukraine, Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Andrei Reva discussed during his meeting with the IMF mission headed by Ron van Rooden, UNN reports referring to the Ministry of Social Policy.
"When the law on pensions was passed, we had some concerns about the adequacy of incentives for people who would encourage them and work longer, but now we see that you have come to the right path", Van Rooden said.
In general, as the Ministry of Social Policy added, IMF mission believes that the reform gives the expected and previously discussed results.
Participants of the meeting separately focused on the development of the law on pension provision for military personnel, the work on improvement and further adoption of which is continuing.
It should be reminded that for 8 months of this year, the retirement costs increased by UAH 64.2 billion versus the same period of the last year.
Reportedly, the IMF mission will work in Ukraine until September 19.
