The rating agency Fitch Ratings has published a report
Ongoing clashes between protesters and police officers indicate tense political situation in the country. Developments may result in depreciation of the currency, as reported by rating agency Fitch Ratings.
To date, the hryvnia exchange rate is kept at the same level due to financial injections from Russia. However, in the event of termination of assistance, a weakened currency is at risk.
In a report by Fitch Ratings it is stated that the unstable political situation in Ukraine will affect the country's economy for the next presidential elections to be held in early 2015. According to experts, the hryvnia exchange rate during this period remains within 8.3 UAH per dollar, if the situation is not significantly changed.
To date, the rating of Ukraine is at B- (lack of creditworthiness) with a negative outlook.
