Action plan for 2014 has been endorsed
The Ministry of Revenue and Duties of Ukraine and Federal Customs Service of Russia have agreed a plan on enhancing their cooperation in 2014. These government agencies signed the special agreement at the 10th meeting of Joint Collegium of the Customs Union member-states, held in February 11-13 in Belarus, as reported by press-office of the MRD.
In particular, this plan for 2014 envisages a number of joint control measures to be undertaken at customs points Kuibyshevo-Diakovo and Pleteniovka-Shebekino, conducting of target meetings to discuss suitable and appropriate border controls at cross-border points between Russian and Ukraine. In doing so, during the first half year of 2014 it is planned to hold 10 meetings with officers of customs services of Kharkiv, Sumy, Luhansk, Chernihov, Eastern and Crimean region.
The parties also agreed to match the statistical data given by the customs services on foreign trade, to exchange practices in paying customs fees through point of sale terminals and ATMs.
Within existing framework of sharing best practices in risk management system, the automation of keeping track records is issue at subject.
In particular, the parties discussed the possibility to reduce a number of government agencies at the border points of the Customs Union member-states, to ensure export of road vehicles temporarily imported for personal use to the Customs Union member-states, to give explanations of the classification of certain goods.
The Joint Collegium of the Customs Union member-states also decided to invite representatives of customs services of Ukraine, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova and Tadzhikistan to attend its next meetings as observers.
