The statements of the Ministry of Defense says
As of April 16, 2014, the financial support given to the Ukraine’s military forces by the legal entities and individuals through a mobile phone Support the Ukrainian Armed Forces appeal exceeded 101,5 mln hryvnias.
Out of this amount, 95,9 mln hryvnias will be spend for acquisition, technology and logistics, the rest will go to ensure medical support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In total, 42,7 mln hryvnias were deducted by legal persons , 33,8 mln hryvnias – by individuals, 24,4 mln hryvnias – received via mobile operators in the territory of Ukraine, through mobile phone calls on "565".
What is more, the accounts of the Ministry of Defense were topped up by USD 57,3 ths and EUR 32,1 ths. After the obligatory sale of foreign currency earnings (50% of total sum), the balances in the foreign currency accounts of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense equaled USD 28,65 ths (equivalent to hryvnia – UAH 324,2 ths), and EUR 16,05 ths (equivalent to hryvnia – UAH 243,4 ths).
On the proposal of the General Staff of the Ukraine’s Armed Forces, 58,7 mln hryvnias will be used to purchase:
22,0 mln hryvnias – bulletproof helmets (kevlar);
15,2 mln hryvnias – sleeping bags and isolated beddings;
8,5 mln hryvnias – naval uniforms;
3,5 mln hryvnias – camouflage screens;
2,2 mln hryvnias – communication equipment and its components;
2,1 mln hryvnias – cotton bed sheets;
1,8 mln hryvnias - blankets;
1,4 mln hryvnias - mattresses;
1,2 mln hryvnias – topographic maps;
0,4 mln hryvnias – cotton pillowcases;
0,4 mln hryvnias – cotton pillows.
Meeting the proposal of the army medical department at the Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense, around 1,3 mln hryvnias were lodged to the accounts of military medical units to make it possible to acquire medicines, bandages, wound dressings and medical textiles.
Accounting records duly kept show whether the said funds have been used in line with the requirements set out in the government-budget-related regulations.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the Ukarine’s Armed Forces have expressed their sincere gratitude to all citizens concerned and involved in support for the army, and those who continue making donations to improve combat readiness and boost defense capabilities.
