The amount totals 6,497 billion hryvnias
The receipts of the tourism companies in Ukraine lowered by 2,4% in 2013 as compared to 2012 – up to 6,497 billion hryvnias, the Forbes-Ukraine (Forbes-Украина) reports, with reference to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.
According to the data provided by the ministerial department, legal entities obtained 95,4% of the total amount (6,2 billion hryvnias), individual entrepreneurs - the rest 4,6% (296,9 billion hryvnias).
The statement says, a network of tourism businesses (legal and natural persons) in Ukraine in 2013 grew by 6,5% – up to 5,7 thousand. Simultaneously, as regards the types of tourism businesses – the most numerous category is tourist agencies (75% of the total number of companies), a lesser category – excursion bureaus making up 8,4%.
The State Statistics Service of Ukraine added that among legal persons involved in tourism business last year tour operators made up 33,1% (945 entities), tourist agencies - 62,9% (1 799 entities), and 4% of entities provided excursions and city tours (115).
Moreover, according to the data from the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, a number of tourists – citizens of Ukraine in 2013 increased by 18% as compared to 2012– up to 3,2 billion, while a number of foreign tourists last year decreased by 14% – up to 232 thousand. The main purpose of travelling for most tourists (86%) was leisure and rest.
