Ukraine will apply to the International Court of Arbitration
Ukraine has applied to the International Court of Arbitration in order «to cease the relations with Russia that unilaterally reviews oil prices so that to increase them». The damage Russia did to Ukraine due to its aggression and occupation of Crimea exceeds $100 billion. The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine is preparing to file a claim against Russia which amount is rather impressive – over 1 trillion hryvnias, that is more than $100 billion, Acting President of Ukraine, Chair of the Verhovna Rada of Ukraine Alexander Turchinov said in an interview in the «TSN. Week» TV program, the press-service reports.
Moreover, he reminded that according to the international law, if the case is tried in the International Court of Arbitration, one party cannot unilaterally terminate the contract that is disputed.
A.Turchinov noted that the government was delegated the task to exert its best efforts so that to prevent any energy threat in case energy supply is reduced. «It is a matter of alternative energy sources, this implies also contracts to be concluded with the West – so called reverse flows of gas through the GTS», - he explained.
«I’m convinced that Ukraine will not be left alone, one to one with Russia, and our strategic partners will cooperate with us, we’ll impel the Russian Federation to reckon with the civilized countries», - said Mr.Turchinov.
