Independent agencies will deal with standardization
The Ministry of Economic Development & Trade of Ukraine will soon reject to coordinate and manage standardization and metrology issues, said head of the ministerial department Pavel Sheremet in the briefing, RBK-Ukraine РБК-Украина reports.
«In the near future we will free the ministry from delivering technical regulation across the country... These issues are being managed by private institutions in all civilized countries throughout the world. Why then should the Ministry of Economic Development & Trade deal with standardization and metrology? It does deal with it, because there was the National Committee for Standards that was later merged with the Ministry of Economic Development & Trade», - told P.Sheremet.
Mr.Sheremet added that the standards themselves should not be established by the government, they should be private. However, standardization issues will be tackled by independent institutions.
