Fuel supplies to the Ukrainian filling stations lower
In March-May of 2014 the production of refined oils in Ukraine dropped down by 22% and made up around 400 thousand tons as compared to about 510 thousand tons of oil produced in March-May of 2013, told Oleg Melnik, Head of Fuel & Energy Markets at the state-owned enterprise DerzhZovnishInform, the press-office of the ministerial department reports.
In the expert’s opinion, this situation has arisen due to lessening delivery of oil products to the Ukrainian filling stations. Demand for diesel fuel for the last months has been met by 15-20% of fuel produced in Ukraine. Thus, for the period from March till May of 2014 the consumption of diesel fuel made up from 430 thousand tons up to 470 thousand tons a month, while domestic production of refined petroleum products reached from 69 thousand tons up to 72 thousand tons a month. In other words, demand for diesel in Ukraine these months is met by 16% of domestically produced fuel at the most with approximately 84% of fuel imports
