According to the forecast, inflation will reach 19% in 2014
In July 2014 the rate of inflation went down from 1% to 0.4%, the National Statistics Service of Ukraine says. The NSSU’s report does not include the analysis of inflation price indices in the temporary occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol city.
In July prices of food items and non-alcoholic beverages in the consumer market fell by 0.3%. Vegetables posted the biggest price drop - by 30.7%. Moreover, the price of dairy products - sour cream, milk and cheese, slumped to 0.5-0.1%. At the same time, price hike in eggs and poultry meat was significant (by 12.8% and 10.1%, respectively), by 3.4-1.4% - beef, rice, macaroni, pork, fruits, sunflower seed oil, bread, fish and fish products.
Prices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco products raised by 2.8%, with alcoholic drinks and tobacco products - by 3.7% and 2.2%, respectively.
Rise in prices (rates) for utilities, water and energy supply, gas and other types of fuel went up to 4.0%, mainly due to increase in cost of sewerage services that soared by 49,7%, with hot water and water supply - by 34,4% and 32,5%, respectively.
Growing prices in the healthcare industry that reached 1.2% was chiefly the result of price hike of 1.6% in pharmaceutical products. Rise in transport fares by 0.7%, in total, ensued, first of all, after 2.2% increase in road transport fares. Besides, prices of fuel and lubricants raised by 0.8%.
Prices in tourism and culture events industry by up to 1.5% rose mostly after prices of tourist services started climbing and reached 5.8%.
