Moreover, October 10, the currency sold to banks to replenish cash
The First Deputy Chair of the NBU Olexander Pysaruk told the attendees that the NBU will hold two auctions this week, the press-office of the NBU reports.
“We’ve analysed shortcomings of the previous auction and are going to conduct two separate auctions this week: to facilitate filing of client applications and to sell foreign currency to banks to bolster their resources”, said Olexander Pysaruk.
The currency auction is planned to start on the 9th of October to respond to the applications filed by banks for purchase of foreign currency in the amount of $100 million, which in turn try to meet clients’ demands. In view of hefty demand of population for foreign currency, an auction will be held on October 10 to respond to foreign currency requests amounting to $200 million; this will help replenish resources of banks. The NBU has updated the procedure for holding auctions so that to involve more banks.
