The National Bank of Ukraine predicts next year drop in the Ukrainian GDP by 4.3 %
Chair of the NBU Valeria Gontariova said at the panel discussion held at the V Ukrainian Investment Forum titled “Evolution after Revolution”.
“Estimates for this year – 7.3%, the next year – minus 4.3%” – said Gontariova having explained that the GDP decrease is the aftermath of the military operations in Donbas, and waning industrial production in the country.
“This (Donbas - Independent Auditor’s note) region is purely industrial and makes up 15% of the Ukrainian industrial production”» - she underscored.
It is worth noting that the NBU forecasts the drop in the Ukrainian GDP in 2014 by 8.4%.
Prime-Minister of Ukraine Arseny Yatseniuk is of the opinion that the decrease in the Ukrainian GDP may reach 7% until the end of the year.
