In the first quarter of 2015, 126 thousand PCs were delivered to Ukraine; this figure is less by 53.6% than that reported for the same period a year ago, as stated in the study of the Ukrainian IDC agency, according to RBK-Ukraine (РБК-Україна).
The delivery of desktop computers fell by 59% numbering 45 thousand pieces. Meanwhile, some monobloc types grew up to 4.7% (a year ago - 3.4%). The mobile PC market has reportedly declined by 50%, up to 81 thousand units. Continued weak demand for IT equipment has forced distributors to supply more affordable devices, 63% of mobile PCs worth up to $400 have been supplied from abroad.
“ Increased military operations in the east, sharp fluctuations of the national currency (and, consequently, price hike), falling purchasing power and confidence - all above mentioned have had an impact on supply of computer devices”, said IDC analyst Irina Melnychuk.
