None except WOG is willing to have almost UAH 800 million in receivables from the UZ due to more than triple devaluation of the hryvnia, as has been stated by Director General of WOG-Retail Sergy Koretsky, OilNews reports.
According to Mr.Koretsky, fulfilment of the terms set out in the tender from the largest consumer, Ukrzaliznytsia, carries big risks.
«At the end of 2013 we won the tender to sell oil for UAH 15 800 per ton, but two months later, in February 2014, the cost was about UAH 18 000 per ton. We could say, well, this deal is lossmaking, we’re terminating it – but it would be the easiest solution”, he said.
Koretsky also denied an allegation of holding monopoly on oil supplied to railroadcompanies.
“I’m astonished by what has been said because we’ve supplied fuel to Ukrzaliznytsia for about 5 years, and there was the year when we provided 30% of the total amount, another year - 50%, and even 80%, but this question is always raised in relation to us despite that there have been also other suppliers», said Koretsky.
He stressed that the tender process held by UZ now is fully transparent.
“Let’s recall the recent tender we won. It was held as transparent as possible, including online registration, opening of tender envelopes online, video recording of all the process, even now we can view the video on the Internet ... «, said Koretsky.
He also commented on one of the tenders for supply of oil products to one of the oblast energy companies, which received a great amount of publicity, it was awarded to WOG-Trading that offered 36 hryvnias per litre of A-95 gasoline. According to Koretsky, procurement was done in February when the dollar reached its highest rate of UAH 32-33 for $1. «Other players, who participated in the tender, offered higher prices, therefore, they lost», he said.
Thus, in his opinion, the company did not supply a single litter at a higher price. «It was indicative pricing calculation, the indicative formula, the price within price ceiling, minus a discount, but not above 36 UAH /litre. But, thank God, the rate stabilized, and tender offers were chosen a bit later than the date of acceptance (about 21 UAH / litre)», summed up Koretsky.
