Skype has launched a service Translator («Translator»), allowing in real time to translate speech during conversations, RBC-Ukraine (РБК-Украина) reports.
The Skype Translator offers six languages: English, French, German, Italian, Mandarin and Spanish. «Our company always wanted to break down existing language barriers among users», as it is said in company’s message.
Skype Translator uses technologies of voice recognition and automatic translation. In addition, the specific feature is a computer-assisted learning: the more the person uses the service, the more correct the translator will work. The company also launches the translation of text messages; the service will offer more than 50 languages.
The Skype Translator will be released within few next weeks on Windows platforms. When the feature will be available on other platforms is not reported.
