The European Business Association is disappointed with reasons for resignation of Abromavicius.
Entrepreneurs have urged authorities to implement the strict policy on fight against corruption and complete reforms, Correspondent.net reports.
The European Business Association (EBA) has expressed disapproval and deep concern due to reasons, which led to the statement of Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Aivaras Abromavicius on resignation, as it is said in the message of the Association’s press-service.
“Investors are anxiously watching developments of recent months and conceive their culmination on February 3, 2016, as the manifestation of political instability, which can lead to extremely adverse consequences for economy”, - as it is noted in the statement.
The organization noted that recent public statements of the team of reformers and their opponents as well as the statement of Aivaras Abromavicius on resignation evidence about the absence of consensus in government and its branches, which is inevitably embodied in investors’ sentiments.
“The economy of Ukraine largely depends on support and aid of international community and financial institutions. If Ukrainian politicians and officials are not able to take further responsibility for implementation of decisive anticorruption policy and fundamental changes, cooperation with IMF will be posed at risk”, as it is said in the message.
Business asked state leaders to introduce the strict policy of “zero tolerance to corruption, to follow to its logical end the reforms in strategic spheres”.
It should be reminded that previously the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Christine Lagarde expressed concerns regarding the statement of Aivaras Abromavicius.
