Rail freight rates will increase since March 1 by 15% in case of obtaining consent from all departments, as it is said by Minister of Infrastructure Andrei Pivovarskii during the meeting with grain traders in “Ukrzaliznytsia”, CTS reports.
“Rates will be raised on March 1, in case if we obtain all approvals in time”, - the minister noted.
According to him, such rate increase is already approved by the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Finance.
It should be reminded that previously it was planned to raise rail freight rates in 2016 in two stages: by 30%– since January 1 and by 15% - since July 1. However, problems have occurred with approval of the size of increase.
In late January Minister of Economic Development and Trade Abromavicius proposed to increase by 15% for all freight forwarders in the nearest time, postponing further raise to more detailed analysis of the situation.
