Some countries, headed by Russia, have appealed against the European association of Ukraine in WTO.
Russia, Venezuela, Argentina, Nicaragua, Ecuador and Cuba appealed against the economic part of the European association of Ukraine within World Trade Organization (WTO), Correspondent.net reports quoting the collective complaint of countries in WTO.
As it is noted, countries appeal that annulment or reduction of duties for goods is possible only in case of agreement on Free Trade Area (FTA). The similar agreement between Ukraine and EU came into force only since January 1, 2016, however the European Union annulled duties approximately for 98% of goods from Ukraine, which, according to counties-complainants violates the main principle of this organization – non-discrimination of trade within WTO.
What is more, before coming into force of FTA agreement the European Union unified with Ukraine some rules in terms of labor migration as well as simplified cooperation of Ukrainian banks with European ones.
It should be reminded that in January Ukraine appealed to WTO for “illegal and discriminatory trade restrictions of Russia”.
