Naftogaz noted that the current period of natural gas injection started on April 7 with the largest natural gas reserves for the last five years.
Due to completion of the heating period Ukraine stopped to take out gas from underground gas storages and started to refill the volumes of “blue fuel” in stores since April 7, as it was said by Ukraine’s gas transportation system operator “Ukrtransgas”, UNIAN reports.
According to the message, from April 7 to 10 inclusive, 30 mln cubic meters of natural gas were injected to storages.
As of today’s morning, the injection of natural gas to storages is made, which is four times more than the volume of injected fuel for the last days.
Ukratransgas notes that there are 8.46 bln cubic meters of fuel in national UGS, which is by 11% more than last year’s indicators.
As UNIAN reported, according to Minister of Energy and Coal Mining of Ukraine Volodymyr Demchyshyn, in 2016 Ukraine plans to purchase about 11-13 bln cubic meters of gas, however European suppliers can cover this volume.
In this January Demchyshyn informed that the price of imported natural gas for Ukraine from the European Union decreased to USD 190 ths cubic meters, which is lower than the price, which Russian Gazprom proposes for its fuel.
