According to the Head of Government, the price of blue fuel cannot be lower than its cost, UNIAN reports.
Ukrainian authorities undertook obligations to raise gas rates and they should be performed, Prime-Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groisman said.
“There are obligations, which are signed by the Ukrainian side that gas rates will 100% correspond to the cost. There is no other way,” – head of government said.
“Low and economically unjustified rates is the field for serious corruption. There are dozens/hundreds of billions, which different people earned on these cases. While the gas costs 3 thousand for one category, and 7 – for other, then I would like to assure you that 3 thousand is written off for people, and sold illegally at 7. They earn colossal billions”, Prime Minister added.
The government, in particular Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Andrei Reva, works on searching for the right decision, which will allow to minimize negative influence on adoption of such decision for citizens, Prime-Minister noted.
“The other question is how to correctly build conditions of social justice so that the price increase to economically justified do not have harsh consequences for those, who have low income. Today this is very important”, Prime Minister noted.
He assured that the Cabinet of Ministers will find “compensatory things”, which will regulate this question.
In addition, the head of government emphasized that the plan of cooperation with the International Monetary Fund is the plan of reforms, which will allow to change the system in the country, to ensure economic growth, which will be converted to Ukrainians’ life real standards.
It was previously reported that according to Groisman, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine intends to decide the question of rate setting for gas most transparently. In addition Groisman emphasized, what will not sustain abuse in pricing.
