The cooperation with the government of Ukraine is one of priority directions of Obama’s administration, Ukrinform reports.
USA has a deep commitment to help Ukraine in ensuring its energy security not only in nuclear sphere, but also in other directions of this sphere, Under Secretary of State of USA Rose Gottemoeller said, delivering speech in the Embassy of Ukraine in Washington.
“I want to emphasize the unchangeable commitment of the USA to work together with Ukraine in overcoming the consequences of the Chernobyl accident, as well as in the sphere of energy security of Ukraine as well as in other spheres”, - US Foreign Service Officer said.
She emphasized that the cooperation with the government of Ukraine is one of priority directions for the work of Obama’s administration, and “the energy security is the largest priority”.
Gottemoeller also noted that USA intends to continue working on projects on minimization of the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster. She reminded that the United States allocated additional $10 mln for this purpose, first of all, for construction of a new cover for the destroyed reactor.
