It is rumored in the society that if some family member owns a land share, then such family won’t be able to apply for subsidy.

The citizen’s possession of any property, including apartments, cars, land shares does not impact the right to receive the subsidy, because only the income, brought from the property, is taken into account while estimating the subsidy, the press-office of the Cabinet of Ministers informed quoting Prime Minister Volodymyr Hroisman, UBR reports.

“It is rumored in the society that if some family member owns a land share, then such family won’t be able to apply for subsidy. I responsibly tell that this is false information”, the press-office quotes Hroisman.

Meanwhile, it is indicated in the message that only the household income, including from property, for example, if the land share is rented, is taken into account for estimating the subsidy.

The Ministry of Social Policy forecasts that during the heating season 2016-2017 the number of families, having need of receiving subsidies for payment of housing utility services, will increase to 8-9 mln from 5.5 mln after setting the single gas price for all categories of consumers since May 1 in Ukraine.

The Ministry of Finance informs that in 2015 43% of accounts for utility services were covered by subsidies. The last year’s budget included UAH 35 bln for these purposes, and in 2016 the expenses will exceed UAH 40 bln.

According to Vice Prime Minister Pavlo Rosenko, the state budget of Ukraine for 2017 will include not less than UAH 45 bln for subsidies. Meanwhile, as per forecasts of the Ministry of Finance, this amount can increase up to UAH 70-80 bln.
