Sytnyk claims about the abduction of NABU employees by the General Prosecutor’s Office.
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) initiated the criminal proceeding against the General Prosecutor’s Office, who abducted and apprehended NABU employees, Bureau Director Artem Sytnyk stated.
“The National Anti-Corruption Bureau initiated the criminal proceeding on some articles, including on the fact of illegally abducted NABU employees… abuse of power and office by the General Prosecutor’s Office and some others, including those which are connected with tortures”, Sytnyk said.
In the meantime he assures that there isn’t any conflict between agencies as well as their heads.
“There isn’t any war between the General Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau as well as personally between me and General Prosecutor of Ukraine Yurii Lutsenko”, he said.
In the meantime, he noted that “there is room for actions on the protection of personal interests of directors and employees of the Department of the General Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine on investigating particularly important cases in economy”.
It should be reminded that GPOU stated on August 12 the NABU special operations forces beat several their employees. The Bureau stated that there appeared an “emergency situation”, which is already settled.
Previously, on August 5, GPOU arrived with search warrant to the Anti-Corruption Bureau office. The investigators stated that the cause to search became the illegal bugging of phone conversations by NABU employees. It is not specified whose conversations were bugged.
