The Ukraine’s GDP growth is driven by trade and construction, according to the experts.
The Ukraine’s GDP increased by 1.3% versus the same period of the previous year, which became the maximum indicator of 2013, Bloomberg reports.
According to the State Statistics Service, the growth rate in the second quarter in respect to the previous year made up 0.6 percent.
Meanwhile, Bloomberg noted that the economists, surveyed by the agency, expected for the growth at 1.7%.
The agency also offered an opinion of the expert, who told that the Ukraine’s GDP growth was driven by trade and construction. He thinks that the activation of bank lending will lead to further growth of Ukraine’s GDP this year.
It is noted that the economic growth in Ukraine was renewed for the first time since 2014 in the first quarter, when the country’s GDP increased by 0.1% on a year-to-year basis. In 2015 the Ukraine’s GDP decreased by 9.9%. Meanwhile, the annual decline rates decreased each quarter.
As per results of the third quarter of the previous year, Ukraine technically moved out of recession, in which it was for a year and a half.
Bloomberg considers that Ukraine’s economic recovery is impeded by the delayed provision of international economic aid for USD 17.5 billion, insufficient anti-corruption rates and the high base rate, which is 15.5% per annum.
