The branch banks are constantly being closed in Ukraine.
More than 35 thousand Ukrainian banks lost jobs for the last two years, as a result of the massive putting financial institutions out of market upon the initiative of the National Bank.
“The actions of the regulator of the banking sector for the last 2 years led to putting 80 financial institutions out of market. As a result, more than 35 thousand bank employees lost their jobs. These are the employees of the banks, which are put out of market, declared insolvent and are being liquidated”, Nazymko told.
In addition, the number of branch banks is constantly reducing in Ukraine. Only for 2015 the financial institutions reduced their regional networks by 8.24% or 1066 branch banks.
The Bank Protection Association fears that the actions of the National Bank can eventually lead to elimination of the profession of a bank employee. “The constant staff reduction leads to the fact that bankers cannot find jobs by their background and have to search for job in other spheres, such as retail, services sector etc. We need to stop this chaos and return jobs to people”, Nazymko summarized.
