The mayor of Romny demanded and obtained these funds from the regional manager of one of its communities.
It has been exposed that the mayor of Romny (Sumy region) obtained the bribe, amounting to UAH 50 ths. It is now being decided whether he will be reported a suspicion, the press-office of Military Prosecutor’s Office of the Central Region of Ukraine reports.
“The mayor of Romny was exposed of obtaining the improper advantage, amounting to UAH 50 ths, by the Military Prosecutor’s Office of Sumy Garrison jointly with the operations staff of the Economy Protection Division in the Sumy region of the Economy Protection Department of the National Police Head Office”, according to the message.
The mayor demanded and obtained these funds from the regional manager of one of its communities for providing authorization for construction, operation and maintenance of computer and cable networks on the territory of the city.
First he obtained UAH 10 thousand for submission of this question to the consideration of the Executive Committee of Romny City Council, and was apprehended by law enforcement officials while obtaining the second part, amounting to UAH 40 ths.
The question on reporting the official the suspicion as per p.3 of art. 368 of the CC of Ukraine (accepting offer, promise or obtaining by the official of the improper advantage in the large amount), choosing the pretrial restriction such as the remand in custody and dismissal from the occupied position is being decided.
