Ukraine expects to obtain the fourth instalment, amounting to USD 1 billion against US guarantees, according to the message of the Ministry of Finance, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
“Except for continued technical support, we hope to continue cooperation, aimed at obtaining a new 1 billion against the guarantees of US government. The loan guarantees are aimed at immediate budgetary needs and are provided on very low interests as per the results of implementation of reforms”, according to the Ministry of Finance.
Ukraine already obtained $3 billion against US loan guarantees by instalments, each amounting to $1 billion each year, including on September 29, 2016: this year the funds were attracted under the all-time Ukraine’s most profitable interest rate on Euro bond – 1.471%.
The Ministry of Finance also informed that during the meeting between Minister of Finance Alexander Danyliuk and US deputy finance ministers Clay Berry and Larry McDonald, which was held last week in Kyiv, the budgetary process, SFS reform, IMF program, further technical assistance to the Ministry of Finance as well as the visit of Finance Minister to Washington, D.C were discussed.
The Ministry reminded that on October 7-9 there will be held an annual meeting of IMF and World Bank (WB).
“During the trip it is planned to hold meetings of Danyliuk and the management of IMF, WB, International Financial Corporation, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, US Treasury Department and other countries as well as addresses in the leading institutes and research centers”, according to the Ministry of Finance.
As it was reported, on September 29, USD 1 billion from the issue of Eurobonds against US guarantees was received at Ukraine’s account.
It should be reminded that, on September 22, the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine placed Eurobonds for USD 1 billion against US guarantees under the all-time lowest interest rate – 1.471%.
Shortly before, the Cabinet of Minister approved the conditions of issuance of bonds of foreign loan against US guarantees.
Previously the USA confirmed the readiness to allocate Ukraine USD 1 billion against its state guarantees.
