Tax is payable within 60 days
Regional authorities of the Ministry of Revenues sent over 244 thousand notices on payment of real estate taxes. After receiving the notices citizens are to pay a certain amount of tax within 60 days, says the Ministry's press service.
However, in case of disagreement with accrued tax amount homeowners can contact the tax authorities for the clarification and reconciliation of data.
Besides, taxpayers can contact the Ministry's experts to determine homes subject to exemption. According to the legislation, apartments and houses with floor area under 120 sq.m. and 250 sq.m., respectively, are not taxed. The tax is paid only for the area that exceeds specified amounts. However, this exemption only applies to one of the residential buildings. Therefore, owners of multiple apartments or houses may apply to tax authorities to accrue exemption for the residential object they consider appropriate.
According to the Ministry's statistics, this year the budget has already received 8.5 million UAH in property tax. Legal entities have accrued and paid 7.3 million UAH, individuals – 1.2 million UAH.
