Ex-Minister of Finance Alexander Shlapak will head the nationalized PrivatBank instead of the current chairperson of PrivatBank Alexander Dubilet, Interfax-Ukraine reports quoting the first deputy chairperson of the bank Oleg Gorokhovsky.
“The bank will be headed by the new chairperson Alexander Shlapak, who will form a new team of top managers. The old team is ready and will provide full support to them”, he wrote in his Facebook blog.
A.Shlapak headed the Ministry of Finance in the government of Arseniy Yatseniuk. In 1998-2000, he managed the group of advisers of Vice Prime-Minister Sergei Tigipko, who occupied this post from the position of the chairperson of PrivatBank, prior to that, since 1993 he was the manager of Lviv branch bank; and then he was the director of its Western Lviv Main Branch and the deputy of the chairperson of the bank.
Subsequently, A.Shlapak also occupied the position of the Minister of Economy (2001-2002), the Deputy Chairman of NBU (2003-2005), the Head of State Treasury (2005-2006), the First Deputy Head of Secretariat of President – Representative of the President in the Cabinet of Ministers (2007-2010).
