According to MergerMarket surveys in the technology sector for 2017, 20% respondents consider that corporations will mostly focus on the artificial intelligence (AI), 16% - e-commerce and other 16% - cybersecurity, as reported in the press release of EY in Ukraine, according to Finance.UA materials.
According to the forecast, many corporations will use artificial intelligence and the opportunities of computer-assisted teaching for improving efficiency, as the organic growth is slowing down, and the growth of income can be ensured through cost reductions. Currently, venture funds and technologic giants, such as Google, Oracle, GE and Microsoft make most acquisitions. Two largest acquisitions in the sphere of artificial intelligence in 2016 were made by the software vendor Salesforce, which acquired PredictionIO (the price was not divulged) и MetaMind for USD 33 mln.
What concerns the private investment funds, according to the surveys, the third of respondents (32%) consider that the transactions are mostly concluded in financial technology sector. Almost fourth (24%) of respondents consider that e-commerce will come into sharp focus. Other 24% were equally distributed among such sectors as IoT, cybersecurity and SaaS.
