The decision of the Board of the National Bank dated February 23, 2017, determined the systemically important banks for 2017: PrivatBank, Ukreximbank and Oshchadbank, Economic Truth reports.
These three banks had the status of the systemically important within 2016, the regulator reports.
“The systemically important bank is the period in the legislation of many world countries, which determines the banks, the bankruptcy or improper functioning of which can create systemic risks for the financial system”, according to the message.
As reported, NBU can apply the intensified prudential requirements in systematically important banks, in particular the raised requirements of liquidity and capital. It complies with the generally accepted world practice.
The status of the systemically important bank also determines the special regime of oversight over the bank.
