Ukraine came forward with the initiative to create a joint portal for placement of tender announcements within the World Trade Organization (WTO), Finance.ua reports.
First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade Maxim Nefiodov reports about such initiative in his Facebook page.
“Ukraine proposed to all GPA (Government Procurement Agreement) Agreement member countries to create the portal, based on the Open Contracting Data Standard. And then to embed BI- module like bi.prozorro.org. In short, to do in other 50 countries, what we did in Ukraine”, he said.
According to Nefiodov’s estimates, “it was a big victory for business, because it is impossible to search for interesting tenders on 45+ national portals. It would be a great victory for governments, because then the reliable, available information would appear”.
Nefiodov notes that EU, USA, Canada, Norway and Switzerland accepted this initiative positively.
