According to the data of the National Bank, the state banks decreased the network by 115 branches, foreign – by 91, private Ukrainian banks – by 115 as the result of withdrawal of banks from the market, Finance.UA reports.
3.8 ths branches of state banks, 2.2 ths – Privatbank, 2.1 ths – foreign and 1.8 ths – private banks are operating as of the end of the first quarter in Ukraine.
In the first quarter, the banks also continued to optimize the number of workers, which decreased by 3.4 ths people versus the beginning of the year – up to 136.7 ths.
As of the end of the quarter, 38.7 ths people are working in state banks, 25.3 ths – in PrivatBank, 46 ths – in foreign banks, 26.7 ths – in private.
The National Bank noted that the network of payment terminals, the number of which increased by 16.2% - up to record 255 ths, is developing dynamically with insignificant decrease of the number of ATMs in the first quarter.
