Program launches in September
Apple Inc. announced its plans to start a program to exchange old iPhones with more recent models (with surcharge) from September 2013.
Only Apple Stores will be authorized to participate in the program.
The client will come to an Apple Store and tell a consultant that they intend to return old iPhone to cover the payment for a new model, and pay up extra. Then the salesman estimates the cost of the client's device on such criteria as a condition of the display, buttons, overall damage, scratches, etc. In the next stage the client receives a «gift certificate» to be spent only in an Apple Store, for the amount of his old iPhone’s estimated cost.
In this way Apple is trying to attract new customers to purchase not only phones, but other Apple products sold in official stores (tablets, Mac computers, etc.)
