Budget will allocate 700 million UAH for the metro
Losses of the Kyiv subway in 2013 will amount to 350 million UAH, announced the head of the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA) Oleksandr Popov, RBC-Ukraine reports.
«This year we are forced to subsidize transport with nearly 700 million UAH, including 400 million for the subway, as we expect the subway will lose this year around 350 million UAH,» O. Popov said.
According to Popov, during the year Kyiv Metro’s warehouse will be upgraded with 140 new cars. «More than 90 cars are of Japanese make. In October, the first such car will be put on the test track. Also we are buying 45 cars from a Russian producer», Popov said.
